By 1929 Earhart was a household name and began to market her own line of women’s fashions called AE. For a number of years she had made her own flight clothes, but her “active living” lines that were sold in 50 stores such as Macy’s in metropolitan areas were an expression of a new Earhart image. One of the first pieces in her A.E line was the contemporary looking dress which balanced femininity with practicality – 2 of Amelias greatest qualitites!
